There are thousands of books written by hundreds of authors out there teaching you Life Lessons that they have learned throughout their lives. Here in this blog, I will list the most important life lessons after learning which I believe can drastically change your life. Each of these lessons is very important and they affect multiple spheres of your everyday life. I can write over 1000 words for each of these lessons but writing this in a single blog post won’t do us any good. So let’s see what those lessons are.
1. Take responsibility:-

The very first life lesson that I learned from reading self-help books and through my own personal experience is the fact that you yourself are responsible for your life. We need to be accountable for our own situation. Because, until and unless you take responsibility for your own life, it can’t improve by itself.
During adversity, we often start looking for flaws in others, while overlooking our own. By doing that you just pass on the burden to someone. Whilst, you take away the power to change from yourself. And if you continue blaming others soon, you will fall into a victim mindset.
A person with a victim mindset believes that life happens to them rather than for them. Basically, they can’t control what’s going in their lives. And it’s an acquired personality trait in which a person recognizes or considers themselves as a victim of the negative actions of others. And the only way
2.Don’t procrastinate:-
“Procrastination is like a credit card it’s fun until you get the bill.
Christopher Parker
It’s easier to procrastinate than putting in the actual work. It’s an unpleasant habit of putting today’s work to tomorrow until there is no tomorrow anymore. It can happen because of fear of failure or because of a desire for perfect results.
With procrastination, you use your time against yourself. Rather than accomplishing anything worthwhile during the time you are procrastinating, you end up taking away from the total time you got to do the actual work. You need to stop this habit by actively changing what has been bothering you. Because it’s far better to swing and miss than to never try at all. Because even your failures can teach you.
3. Hack the habit loop:-
βSuccess is the product of daily habitsβnot once-in-a-lifetime transformations.β
If you want to make some habit, it will be better if you first learn how a habit forms. Just like it’s better to learn about how the car operates before actually trying to drive it. It will ease up forming the habit. Habits are an essential part of human behavior. We can define a habit as “a gained mode of behavior that has become nearly or completely involuntary”.
So what that means is that our brain needs no effort to perform a task that is habitual to us. It is an involuntary action that takes place automatically without our conscious mind guiding the action. It is the same as driving a car every day, as you are habitual of it it seems so easy. But try to remember the first time drove a car.
4. Know the power of compounding:-

The result of improving or regressing by 1 percent every day for a year is:- Improving:- 1.01^365=37.8 : Regressing:- .99^365=0.03. At first glance, just one percent improvement doesn’t sound too much but contradicting our beliefs if we improve by just one percent every day for a year you end up 37.8 times better. And if you regress by the same one percent every day for a year you just come down to .03 times of from where you started. That is the power of compounding.
If you have ever heard of SIP. You might also have heard why they are so famous. They are famous for the principle of compounding that they used to grow your money. Just like the way the compounding works with SIP, they also do work with our efforts. Our daily efforts compound to an enormous amount after a certain time. When you achieve that certain limit only then can you see the results, but we quit before that we achieve that breakthrough point. So be patient and keep going with what you started.
5. Time is actually money:-
Internet prices have drastically reduced in the recent 2-3 years. All thanks to Jio in India. But with that, there comes yet another problem knocking at our doors. The time we used to spend on the screen has drastically increased. When you used to get a limited amount of internet, we were thinking of what to watch and what to do. But now we can just continuously scroll up the Facebook feed which is almost endless, or keep watching YouTube videos aimlessly.
But that is not the only factor. Companies like Facebook and Google also got better at targeting us as their audience. They show us the content that we want to see, and what that means for us is that If you are sad they try to keep you sad and if you are happy they try to keep you happy. Though simple it’s quite effective, it’s normal when we do a simple google search for something, and everywhere things related to that google search pop up.
6. Practice Gratitude:-
“Learn to be thankful for what you already have, while you pursue all that you want.
Jim Rohan
While looking for everything that we believe we are lacking in our lives we often forget to be thankful for what we already in our lives. There are a lot of things that I Can enlist here that we take for granted that people used not to get a few years back. But if we don’t take a moment to be happy about what we have, then we are just earning and collecting material things without actually enjoying life.
It’s even more difficult now as we are used to instant gratification. It is the desire for instant fulfillment without delay or deferment. Because of this tendency we are usually not thankful for the things that we already have. So try to be a bit more thankful for what you already have in your life. It will make your life much easier. There will be an abundance in your life.
Conclusion:-
So I hope that these lessons once applied in your life will change your life drastically. All you need to do is to make these lessons your own. What we read doesn’t become our own until we use it.
